Profile
Capital strategy for disputes where legal merit must meet commercial reality.
J-P Pitt is a director of AMROR and a highly experienced litigation funder. An English solicitor and former British Army officer, he brings more than 25 years' international experience to disputes where legal merit must be tested against capital, enforcement and commercial outcome.
He has spent a decade in litigation funding, working across three established funds and assessing disputes from an investment perspective. His experience spans commercial disputes, group actions, asset recovery and multi-jurisdictional enforcement. He has originated funded disputes involving financial commitments of tens of millions of dollars.
J-P's focus is whether a dispute can deliver a commercial outcome, not simply whether it has legal merit. He brings practical judgement on recoverability, respondent assets, enforcement risk, funding economics and the wider capabilities often needed to improve prospects of success, including intelligence, forensics and communications support where appropriate.
Within AMROR, J-P helps clients test whether a dispute is investible, commercially coherent and capable of producing a recoverable outcome. He advises on funding, insurance and other capital options so that financial risk is managed in support of the wider strategy, not allowed to drive it.
